Hey all,

was hoping someone may have some insight. After popping my hood- and releasing the latch, something in the arms connecting the hood to the vehicle is giving me resistance from opening the hood fully. I only can open it about 8 inches.
The hood closest to the windshield actually hots the vehicle and starts to bend the hood when trying to get it open.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

When’s the last time you lubed the hinges?
If memory of my 78 serves correctly, it kind of sounds like one of the bolts that holds the hinge to the fender came out allowing the hinge to rotate. Are you able to shine a light in there and see what’s going on? Or maybe attach your phone to a pole and guide it back to the hinge area while taking a video.

I can open it just enough to heck it out. Seems like it isnt rotating up properly.

I can see the issue now, a bolt in the rear center of the underside of the hood is getting caught, what could have caused that? Looks like i can get to it with a wrench
