1979 Dodge Honey Sportsman RV- Power Washed

Picked this up today for Free.99! Needs work in the living quarters but it runs great and the drivers area is pretty nice.

75k miles and a 440 big bloc for the power plant. Everything works just needs some TLC as it’s been sitting for a few years.

my parents have a 1975 Winnebago parked out back with a 440 in it. I half way thought about finding an old vehicle to put it in. Dad has passed, Mom is in assisted living and I am sure eventually I am going to have to clean up the old homestead.

Sleeperdude on YouTube completely redid a Dodge motorhome like this. Like down to the frame. We really want an older motorhome for road trippin' but I need one that sleeps 6 and I like the G30(?) Chevy ones with a 454 and a tilt front clip. They are harder to find. Lots of old Fords with big blocks it seems like around here.

Update the inside. Power wash it. Use the crap out of it.

May do an intake and carb upgrade depending on what it currently has. Some of these came with the 2bbl on the Dodge 400. The 4bbl and an aftermarket intake really help from what I’ve read.

plan on redoing all the water lines, with Pex. New water heater, and heater. If the original fridge is good I'd keep that, 3 way power. Also might want to consider updating the converter to one that can manage LiFePo batteries.

Spent a few hours with the power washer this afternoon. It’s not 100%, but it’s 85% cleaned up. Lots of mold spots and even a few lichens.

I tried to get a series of shots all from the same location to show how dirty it was.

After I was done with most of the power washing, I decided to do a could have test spots with some wax. This thing is going to absolutely POP once I buff the entire thing!!!

Better call this thing the honey wagon! We used to have to work on the porta potty trucks at the International truck dealership. One of the companies was called Honey Bucket so we would call whoever was working on them the honey wagon hero. I hope it doesn't stink too bad for ya?
