1979 VS 1980 (Round eye VS square eye) POLL

I’ll be the contrarian. The ‘80 square headlight grill was one of the best of the run. Particularly in the GMC.

But I doubt I’d ever change one for the other.

Always thought the 80 with square lights looked like a dodge especially with the grill.
With the 79 I picked up I’ll even be changing the headlight bezels to a 73-74 style. Imho that huge chromed plastic chunky lookin bezel detracts from the shape of the front end and certainly won’t get ya home.
To my knowledge the only difference is the bezel and the lower grill trim is a different width.
Shown is the 73/4 on the drunker side and the original 79 bezel on the driver side

That must be a later in yr. 80 production, because my early 80 K10 had round eye balls . Which I DO believe Chevy manufactured them that way.

Production date has ZERO to do with it. It was merely an option. For the entire production year of 1980 a round head lamp was standard, and the square head lamp was optional.

I agree about the '79 (and base '80), I hate the big chrome bezels! A square head lamp '80 is fine, because it is unique, but the '79 bezels are ugly.
