Holy screaming good deal on the k30! Body doesnt even look that bad
Body is decent, no rot. It was a originally a diesel truck and after the swap nothing inside the truck was hooked up and the inside is pretty rough.

Screw the k5. Build that k30.
Got some goodies at harbor freight.
Got the motor and trans/T case pulled from the donor truck.
Ran the numbers and it appears to be a 71 Ls5 block.

Haven't really had time to work on the blazer but I've ordered and collected some parts.
Ran a compression test on the 454 and it had low compression in 3 cylinders. Pulled the heads and found a scratch in the #7 cylinder wall. Engine is at Wyoming Performance for a rebuild
I decided I wanted an overdrive with all the highway driving out here and picked up a nv4500. The guy I got that from had a ord crossmember for a BBC. Picked up a heavy plate 60 cover, spring plates and some hardware too.
Been looking at adapters for the nv4500 to attach is to the 205. The Advance adapters kit is 600 and requires cutting the tailshaft. Gonna solve the problem of the expensive adapter and shitty low range on the 205 with an ORD magnum box.
Plan is to get the drivetrain swap done first. Then do the axles, lift, steering, drive lines after. I'd like to get this thing on 37s with 4.88s in the one tons. I have been thinking about a 6" lift with ord custom springs. Gonna go crossover steering. Not 100% sure on what spring/lift combo to run so that's up in the air.
Interior is hideous so to get rid of the ugly red dash I have a Diy4x dash ordered. Feedback on lift and tire combo is welcome. Stay tuned for updates.
