1983 Chevy K20 Longbed

Nice truck. I like it. It would be fun to fly up and drive it home. Too bad I'm broke and saddled with a car payment (i'm thinking of ditching it for a paid for daily) Good luck! :D

No rust by MI standards. There is one spot on the top of the rocker with surface rust about the size of a quarter.

Here is a pic of the new power window/lock switches.

Not to interrupt your thread, but since you have the pic up, how long did it take to do the disc swap? I have everything, new calipers, rotors, pads, brackets, seals, pins, and drop line and axle line to the calipers. Think I got everything. I'm a grease monkey by trade, seems straight forward, like it would only take an hour or so, but I'm debating taking it to the shop or doing it at home since nothing on my truck goes as planed thanks to the previous owners "tinkering" . The hub nut is the six pin type socket?

If you really have all of the parts, it should only take a couple of hours to do the swap. Maybe another 2 hours to bleed the air out of the system.

Thanks. I got a power bleeder at the shop, so shop it is!

I think it took me at least 5 tries with a power bleeder to finally get all of the air out of the system. Just keep going until you get an absolutely solid pedal.

About an hour out of Seattle and I still have the truck. I haven't been trying very hard to sell it.

Why r u selling it. Seems like u put alot into it. How many miles does everything else hav on it? How many miles can u usually get out of those 6.2

Just looking at options, if it sells I plan on putting together a Sami with a VW diesel next. Right now I have the dash pad off while I finish up the power window wiring, I will get pics of it all when I am done with that. The interior is in excellent shape though.

I was getting 15 mpg with the lift and 37" tires (after correcting for speedo error). I think 4.56 gears would work better for the truck though and put it in a better power band and improve the mileage under 55 mph. The downside would be loosing top end speed. Right now it goes 70 down the freeway without any trouble.

I have also installed the military brush guard and shackles, then bought a Detroit for the 14FF in the last two weeks as well.
