I have found a few videos on converting the 1983 to earlier convertible 70's model. I am not finding other solutions inserting a panel with window, without swap the cab. Has anyone come up with or across a "dry" solution? The cap was missing when I purchased-- I prefer without. I am located in Alabama.

The full conversion requires a 75 or earlier which appear to be sparse so I am thinking either a window or canvas top.

That is a pretty good solution. Has anyone seen the military Humvee how the back is slanted that would be a better solution if it were canvas.

You could always make your own frame and have a boat shop sew up the materials and windows for it. A slanted back might make it more complicated to roll up the sides. Also, a giant slant back window might make the vehicle into a greenhouse. Just some things to consider.

Somebody used to make a tonneau cover type of soft top and I've seen one that did a straight slant from the back of the cab to the tailgate. I don't think they're available anymore, but if you're looking at building something custom, you can do whatever you want.

I think a company use to make them, but definitely wasnt as wide spread as the tonneau or traditional soft tops.
You could use the soft topper frame, that comes with all the weather stripping, and then have boat shop make the fabric fit with the snaps. Easiest approach
