I Had a 350 with a 700R4, now swaping in a 454 with the 700. What mods do I have to do to motor mounts or any thing else?

i agree, even a mildly built 700r4 won't last behind a 45484_Chevy_K10 said:Start planning for a new tranny NOW!!![]()
it will end up going in soon
I would venture to say that he likes running a 700r4 since he already has run one, put some money aside and get a shop that knows how to build them. Not to mention the crawl ratio, plus his driveshafts, t-case and/or adapters would have to be changed as well.big83chevy4x4 said:i agree, even a mildly built 700r4 won't last behind a 454

How do you get the converter engaged again that way ? I haven't done a th700r4 install yet , but I always thought it was like a th350 where you need to make sure to spin the converter until you knpw for sure its in there and mates with the pumpsupersize75k5 said:sometimes, if I am feeling froggy I will pull the tq with the motor rather then undoing the tq bolts, it may or may not be easyier for you to install it that way, I have done it both ways.

I bought the motor about 90% complete with all brackets, alt. starter, everything except the power steering pump. Can I use my original one off the 350 somehow?
...well almost anyways, good call on pulling the front clip as well, lets you keep your sanity when swapping motors on a lifted chevy..
I worded that wrong paul, I have pulled it both ways, I cant remember if I have installed it that way or not. If so I assume that it would involve some luck to get it right the first try. I "think" that is what I did for the 71 though, I have yet to start the truck though....pauly383k10 said:How do you get the converter engaged again that way ?
