I will have to try and remove it then to look better. I really hope there isint frame cracking then. Isint it a pain in the a** to fix? I’m not a welder.

Many companies make repair kits.
This one is from Rough Country.
Two stamped steel plates.
Yes, they need to be welded in.
Any cracks you have in the frame should be drilled at the ends and welded shut.
The first one i did was a 1984 K5.
Took me most of the morning just cleaning all the grease and gunk off and then wire wheel to all the rust.
The welding part isn't all that technical.
If you find someone who can weld mig halfway decent, it'l be okay.
It calls for stitching about an inch at a time.
Anyways, it really ain't bad.
Just the prep work sucks.

This kit is going on my rusty 76 cause it has cracks.
Lucky for me the 86 m1009 did not and i put an ORD brace kit onnit.

Balance doesn't do that.
Uneven wear, different size tires side to side, bad alignment or worn steering components will.

I just replaced my steering box, drag links, tie rods and ball joints and my truck handles just as sloppy as it did before. I’m stumped and very aggravated I spent all that money and it didn’t fix my problem... while doing 45mph down a straight flat road, I can turn the wheel a 1/4 turn in each direction and still drive straight...

Have you looked at the rag joint?

This was my oldest daughters first intro to helping dad. I set her up in the truck and had her rock the wheel back and forth until I found the slop in mine. Each thing I replaced, the movement went to the next sloppiest part.

Seriously, get someone in the cab and have them move the wheel while you check joints.

See if the wheel bearings are loose...they can have quite a bit of play and still not make noises..
Wouldn't hurt to have a 4 wheel alignment check done,perhaps the rear axle isn't tracking with the front properly due to a broken spring center bolt,worn spring bushings,or a frame issue..
Square body trucks never really had "tight" steering even when new really in my opinion..just about every one I've owned had 1/4 turn of the steering wheel before the truck responded even after replacing ball joints,tie rods,etc..
