I am reworking my gauges. I have the instrument cluster out the truck. I am trying to find a diagram of the connector which tells which wire goes to what. I have a wiring diagram from Haynes but it does not show the connector slots. If anyone has a good link I would appreciate it. The main goal is to eliminate the plastic/copper sheeting that is going bad.

thanks

I think those are what I need, I just cant seem to read them to well when I zoom in I lose resolution.
Thank you.

Just trace the copper to the destination gauge/light. It's very easy. Some of them will be 12V, some will be ground, the rest are all the "signal" wire for things like the fuel gauge, oil pressure, etc.

Gotta be careful, the wiring changed a few times over the years, so you'd need an exact match gauge diagram.

Thanks again

I started using the trace method but I want to be real sure I get things connected correctly especially the gas gauge wires.
If you would like you can send any additional diagrams to my email address:

Thanks for all your help.

It's best to just trace your old one. Those things vary from year to year, option to option. Optional gagues, diesel, no diesel, number of tell-tale places, tach no tach, light duty, med. duty..etc.....
Trace your old one, it takes about 15minutes, trace carefully and write it down and double check it.
For reference, here's mine, it's a med. duty gas/w tach, air gauge and volt and oil pressure.

Honestly, the best way is to score a 1984 factory wiring manual off eBay or a website that sells them.

I don't see an '84 manual on eBay today, but give it a couple of days. Mine was worth 10 times it weight in gold when I needed it. You may need it for something else one day.
