Does anybody out there have pics of a power window and regulator removal? I'm trying to figure out how to do this myself and some photo's would go a long way. I keep hearing about rivets I have to drill out but I don't see any, just bolts. I'd like to know what i'm getting into before i have a bunch of bolts undone and the project wont go foward, or down, or up:D Great forum by the way, I just joined and am thankful y'all are out there to help with my newly bought K5 issues:thumb:

I have not taken one out in years so I don't remember exactly......BUT BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! The wound up spring on the motor is under a lot of pressure. That is what I remember after almost losing a finger.

Thanks, i've gathered that from what I could find out on the web. It seems as though the regulator would do a nice job of slicing your fingers like a banana. It also seems like all the advice is for a regulator that's pushed down all the way but window is stuck up (not in the "I only shop at Lord And Taylor's" kind of stuck up) :D and I dont know how to compress it. I've found a couple of video tutorials online but none specific to a early 80's K5 and dont know what differences there might be. If I could figure this out I'd make a video just to get it out there. I gotta get this fixed though, it's getting hot in ATL and no windows down in the front is kinda sucky.

Bump Bump BUMP! Please! It's so hot!!! I'm not sure if the scissor is seized up or if my motor is dead, and I don't have a voltmeter to tell.

My 85 K5's drivers window regulator had to be repaired awhile back.

I have a copy of the instruction sheet. I will try to scan and and post it tomorrow night.
