Hey everyone, working on building out an 84 suburban at the moment, thought it would be fun to share it here. At this point in the project I have removed the stock drivetrain from the 84, and purchased a 2002 suburban with a 5.3/4l60e combo to swap into the 84. I have the drivetrain out of the 2002 and am currently swapping in new seals / timing chain / gaskets and waiting on my 6 bolt to 4 bolt adapter with VSS from ORD in order to get my NP208 working.

4l60e has been rebuilt, engine and transmission are in, stock exhaust manifolds are on. I'm installing the 4" suspension lift right now, just need to finish up the rear, then I will move on to exhaust and fuel system. I'll keep the updates coming, feel free to ask any questions if you have them.

Found this dana 60 off of an 03 express van while looking for a 14 bolt semi float to throw in the rear. Picked it up for 240 bucks, has 3.73's and is 6 lug same as my front axle, couldnt be happier! Going to weld on some new spring perches and bend up some ubolts then throw it in. My stock 15" rims fit over the disc brakes, couldn't believe it, great find for anyone looking to do the same thing.

Thats a cool find! How wide is that axle between the wheel mounting sufaces?

Always love a good 'burb build!

Engine and drivetrain are operational. Exhaust is going in right now. I decided to swap the hardlines from the 4l60e to braided AN lines, waiting on those to arrive. The hard lines worked as I reused the 2002 suburban radiator, however they hit the frame and didnt fit the way I wanted to, and managed to really annoy me by blocking my exhaust plans, could have made it work but decided to go with the sexy braided steel. Got the original fusebox mounted in its final location on top of the inner fender. Still working on the ECU and overfill tank mount, as well as fabbing up a better / cleaner radiator mount. I'll post pics on the details, stuff I feel like folks should know ahead of time. The stock manifolds did fit and I could have made work, however after finding cracks In one of the manifold I decided to just use headers. Went with the speed engineering headers as I had already seen evidence that they fit. Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers

That last pic is the ORD 4l60e to NP208 adapter, btw.
