1985 Chevy M1009 (CK5 build thread part 2)

Hood re-paint:
I had initially done a quick sanding job on the hood, to try and blend where the old paint had fallen off, and to knock down the brush strokes. I wasn't really happy with the way it turned out, it was quite splotchy. Then a few weeks after I painted it, I had some bubbles popping up that would come and go depending on the heat levels. I figure it was from applying thick coats of paint without enough cure time in between coats. You can also see I didn't get the old surface knocked down very much:

Welp, since I love re-doing stuff so much (the story of my life), it was time to start fresh.
I took the hood off to get after it:

I stipped the new paint off with some acetone and hit the hood with the hamburger wheel on my surface conditioning tool:

I then got carried away and proceeded to take it all the way down to bare metal (those grinder marks look bad in this photo! :D)

Then I followed up with some self etching primer, some high build primer, a DAing with some 400 grit, then I layed on three coats of the Rapco paint. This time I waited a day between each coat, to ensure it was properly gassed off.
Finished product came out awesome!
