So my 85 is almost back from paint, and i want to put in a lift kit. I want a 6" lift, and I want a stiff one. This truck will NEVER see off road or winter. I know you guys hate it, but it will be a mall crawler!!

what is a good suspension for this, and where is the best/cheapest place to get it?

So why do you want a stiff ride, you enjoy feeling like your driving a mid 70s dump truck?

Rough country for sure cheap and the springs don't really move much

Nah, just rearch the springs. Make it ride like I-beams baby!

rough country lifts from top gunz custom. had their 4" springs on my 76, it rode just fine.

fyi you wont get 6" lift from stock springs re arched.

and huge waste of money on re arch job. dont last long.

and if me few bucks more get a tuff country kit or bds and have a nice smoth ride and save the money from broken bones from stiff ride.

You will be way happier with soft ride springs in the long run. Why would you want a mall crawler that will break your back=not fun to drive.

I was being sarcastic.:waytogo:

My buddy had the springs on his K20 rearched a number of years ago. Got a good 4" of lift out of them...he was soooo happy...but the thing rode like it had I beams under it and they started sagging down within a few months of use. Every mud bog the thing was sitting lower and lower...

I am into drag racing my car, not off roading any more. I want a stiffer spring so i can retain some handling ability.

i had a rough country lift on my 89 Jimmy, and i liked how it rode on the street.

the last thing i want at 45 mph on the back country roads i live on, at midnight, swerving around 6 deer in the road, is a lot of suspension flex........

I am not going to break my back from a stiffer 6" lift on a half ton.... My 96 K3500 dually, has two extra leaves on each side in the rear, and that will tear you a new one!

Soft ride spring dont really flex more, they have tapered end on the leafs to make a smoother ride.

simple on all parts. RUFF COUNTRY = stiff and cheep.
Rough Country could NEVER be sued for false advertising!!:haha:

I got a 4" kit for my K20 several years ago because it was cheap and it was a bday present from my parents so I was trying to take it easy on their wallets. Whenever I get around to rebuilding the truck again those are the first pieces of junk going in the scrap pile!!

Rough country aren't pieces of junk, there just what i need, and are perfect for my application.

And to the guy who said softer springs don't flex more...... :dunno: really? i hate to be a dick, but the whole purpose of a soft spring is to get more flex....
