Ok so my hi beam switch on the floor is bad..... I am going to be buying a 1985 chevy blazer for parts...
can I take the steering column and put in my truck? dont they have the hi beams at the wheel???
is it hard to put in?

Dimmer I think was moved in 1984...my '86 definitely was not stock with a floor dimmer. I'd suspect perhaps your column or just the switch was swapped out...the entire upper column changed when the dimmer went to the column.

That '85 should be a dimmer on the column yes, I think it will require a bit of rewiring to mate the floor dimmer wiring up to the dimmer switch on the column, but that should be nothing more than splicing the wires. Make sure that however your truck is setup for dimmer wiring, that you can't just unplug or depin the connectors (if the wiring uses them) instead of having to splice them.
