I am looking at buying a 1985 K5 and have a simple question about the AC. It blows cold, but it doesn't come out of the vents, only the floor vent. What could cause a problem like that?

Check to see if the a/c tubing is still there. Open up the glove box and stick your hand up or look in and you might see it. It's black and has about 4" or so diameter, can't miss it.

Great, thanks. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of vacum type connection that it needed to push the air up to the vents or not. That sounds easy enough.

Even if the tubes were gone you should have air flow out middle dash vent! One tube runs under the steering column and up to vent by light switch. Can check by taking four screws out under column. The other tube has been described to you. Be advised that the foam in between ducts are probably dry rotted. They look like little weather strip for a home window.
