What are you guys using for the rubber gas filler tube (the tube that fits between the metal in spout for filling the tank and the gas tank itself)? How about the smaller rubber vent hose with the two 90 degree bends on each side? The smaller hose looks like it's 1/2" inside diamater.

The one on my '77 leaked. I went around to all the junkyards I could, couldn't find one that looked any better then mine. The parts stores all said it was a dealer part. Dealer said it was discontinued. I ended up using some radiator hose. About ten minutes of looking at the wall in Napa, I found one that worked. The smaller one was still fine. But I suppose you could use heater hose. The radiator hose was smaller then the stock filler. Took some Wd40 and a few four letter words to get it on. You might also try LMC, they've probably got one.

Any good parts store stocks the filler hose. I know it isn't cheap though and IIRC it might even have to be bought by the 3 foot length.

We carry it at our CarQuest store i work at.

Someone said rad hose will deteriorate and won't last long. I"m not sure if that is true. I checked the dealer and they also said discontinued. My local parts places said they only have straight hose. I think I"ll try a gas tank rebuild shop on Monday. THanks for the replies.

I thought I'd be able to atleats find bigger hose. But even Napa (used to be a CarQuest) said they couldn't find anything in that diameter. FWIW they are the best shop I have ever dealt with. I almost use them excluesivly. Except if I'm working on someone elses car and they've bought the parts someplace differnt. They usually have the most off the wall parts that I could ever need. I needed carrier bearings for my 14Bff, they had 3 in stock with the races. I even use them to order my speed/off road parts. Bring in the Summit, Jegs, or even Classic Industries catalog, they'll look it up and order it for me. Most of the time at a cheaper price with no shipping. IDK if it's because I spend allot of money there ($1500plus a month), but they have always been awesome to me.

The rad hose has been holding up just fine. Been in there atleast 5 years.
