1985 Suburban diesel price ???

Personally, I'd at least try to knock $1,000 off that price at least. And I'd leave the 6.2 in it as well :)

But, coming from California, the Diesels are fetching higher prices. I haven't seen any that high, but all the ones I've seen recently are 2wd, not 4wd.

If it is really rust free and the banks is all set up right, I think it's worth it.

You won't find that around here anyways.

By the time you lift, winch, turbo, and put tires on another 6.2 you will be into it for way more $$.

I agree with ccarley, just drive it with the 6.2 turbo or buy a different one.

Wish I could sell my '85 Burb for that much!...

Mine is the same exact color scheme as that one,has the 6.2 (no turbo),its 100% all stock (K1500) never been lifted or butchered, and it might be a little more rusty than that one maybe, but it also has a Fisher plow frame and Diamond blade, that I put on it 2 years ago and never used it once,it never had a plow before I got it...the 700r4 has some woes, but it still runs and drives..

I would say that one is too much money, needing tires and other work, the lift kit scares me on any 4x4 ,you never know who did what under there or what they used to lift it..I dont care for a lifted truck for street use period..the less molested the drive train and suspension is the better,as far as I'm concerned..
I agree a non running one could probably be scored a lot cheaper, seeing you plan to put a cummins in it anyway..

If you have the means to purchase it and you like it, then I would buy it. I agree that I would stay with the 6.2 for as long as I could keep it going, If you compare power specs to an early 12 valve unmodified you would not be too far off.

I don't think that is an '85. It has an '83-'84 grille and headlight bezels.

If you are swapping it, some kid in North Platte had one he was going to part out, for $1000.
