Don't really want to sell it but I lately I have just really wanted to buy a Vette, so the K5 needs to go cuz thats where my money keeps getting siphoned too.
$3000 OBO.
1986 K5
Salvage title from being stolen once in it's life. The dash doesn't match the rest of the truck.
1976 350 four bolt main out of a '76 3/4-ton 4x4. Partially taken apart and cleaned. 670 cfm Holley Truck avenger, Edelbrock intake, K&N filter, new water pump, new plugs and wires, new cap and rotor. Runs strong! Burns a little oil but not bad. 700R4 tranny, 208 transfer case.
THE GOOD:
This last summer I spent a lot of time and money swaping axles for 3/4-ton ones. D44 out front with new pinion seal, new hub seals, new ball joints, new u-joints in axles and both drive shafts, new calipers, new rotors, new tir-rod, new pitman arm, new stabilizer (rough country). GM 14 full float out back, new pinion seal, new hub seals, disc conversion with new rotors and calipers. New 1-ton master cylinder, the breaks work AWESOME! Calipers have been ground down to fit 15'' rims. 4 new rough country shocks, 2 inch blocks in the rear, add-a-leafs in front (all rough country). Steers like a brand new car!!! Alignment done recently. New cat-back exhaust with new mufflers. Frame in decent shape. I have a ORD steering box frame stabilizer that goes with truck, just havent had time to install. Also have ORD sway bar disconnects that i didnt install. All windows work, but slow. I have an original gas tank skid plate I will throw in.
THE BAD:
Has body rust issues on body mounts, and rockers, and fenders, and a little on doors. Tailgate good. Rear was sagging but welded in supports to hold it up. Floor has some holes. Had to relocate seat belts because of rust. Tires are discontinued which wouldnt be an issue but one popped beyoned repair, have a full size spare.
My plan for this truck was to ditch the body and make a TRAZER but I just dont have the time or money... maybe some day I will get another one. I just want a sports car for now :P I am pretty firm on the price because I spent a lot of money on the offroad mods this last summer, and would just be throwing my money away if I sold it any cheaper, but make me a good offer and I'll consider it. Truck is located in Dubuque, Iowa and I would prefer pick up, but I do have a friend who would haul it all over the midwet, and possibly further. I would have to check with him on the price.
