Since you mentioned that you couldn't get the last corner in, I figured I would suggest something.
When installing these, I have always had to start at the bottom obviously. Then work up each side a couple of inches at at a time switching sides. Then go around the upper corners in 1/2" increments switching sides each time. Then run to the middle to finish.
Greetings ktmoutfront and thanks for the input. I tried each side after the bottom, very very slowly bouncing back from side to side but the rubber is so thick, even though I have it nice and slick, the top rubber will NOT go over the glass. The glass is so tight and too high for the rubber lip to even think about going over the glass. Just for kicks today, I tried the top first, well I have nothing to lose at this point, and then the bottom of the glass is hanging over the rubber PAST the lower lip for the chrome strip, it just ain't gonna' work. I've even tried a paint paddle in the grove and a rubber mallet to drive the gasket tight on the pinchweld so I KNOW the gasket is fully seated on the body. My neighbor was helping cause I know this is a 2 man job for sure. Too bad glass won't bend.....LOL!! That LMC gasket is really thick and you can really tell the difference by holding the LMC gasket in one hand and the Precision gasket in the other. They are different weights and thicknesses for sure. You can pull the rubber back REAL easy on the Precision gasket but it's difficult to do on the LMC gasket. I know one thing, I WILL get that glass in soon, hopefully the OEM gasket will be the "cure all" I am looking for. If NOT, well, I guess I will keep looking for the perfect formula. Thanks again and have a SUPER week!!!
