the fuel pump quit in my truck the other day so ive been searching where to get my new one. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php so out of these wich one would work, i see as the kits two say fi and two dont the ones that dont are cheaper should i not buy the ones that dont say fi? they cant be for carburated right? if you dont see what i see on the link let me know

if you still have tbi injection then its in the tank.

and did you price local ?

reason i ask is by the time you buy rocks auto on most stuff with shipping and wait for it. the part can be had local for a few more bucks that day or next day.

Go to the acdelco.com parts catalog. Look up your truck, and the pump recommended.

Check online, find a reputable vendor that sells the *Delco* pump for a reasonable price, and buy it.

i understand what your sayin k30 but money is a little tight so im tryin to save as much as possible even though i wanna buy the whole unit

you didnt answer my question boy .

reason i asked is yes carb pump much cheeper than tbi so we need to know what ya got first.

and if tbi you CAN get just the pump if your sending unit is still good.

its tbi and i knew i can just get the pump but i wanna replace the whole unit any way and it would be stuppid in my opinion to buy from local parts store cause its 30 dollars more so im just going to look a lil more then buy one

o.k. now were getting somewere.

online include shipping and tax ? lots of places charge that now adays.

and also your time waiting is worth somthing also.

and if sender unit is good and usable no need to change. the pump just sits in a saddle with rubber cusion and then 2 clamps on short hose to pump outlet.

real easy to swap out and fix fast.

but its your truck and time and money do what you want.

If the electric pump doesn't say walboro then keep looking. If you have an Advanced auto parts locally, go in when they aren't busy and ask to flip through their interchange manual. they have reference numbers for equivalent pumps, that are often better brands and cheaper to replace.

off the self cheepy napa in plow truck going on over 6+ years and still going. and i even dump in all sorts of old gas i get from drained tanks.

and just did buddys pump in blazer with napa cheepy.

2 things kil a pump fast.

bad ground's = high amp draw

and running tank on 1/2 or less full all the time. the pump is cooled via the fuel. dont be a 10-20 buck every other day guy it will kill the pump fast .

no not that . . . . bad

just dont do 5- 10 bucks all the time running on empty is all.

fill it / run it get around 14 or less its best to fill up if super woried is all.

sweetk30 that is excellent advice. Too often I see people running under a quarter of a tank, only to refill back to a quarter when it is dead on E. I top mine off once a week or when it hits 1/2 tank, which ever comes first. While it seems expensive to do, only you initial fill up is costly, after that your only paying for 1/2 a tank at most, and you always know that half a tank is there for an emergency.

my truck isnt as bad as you would think sweetk30 since your from my area i thought id share this i drove from honeoye to manchester (past canandaigua), and raced it in sand in manchester, then drove back to honeoye and it burned $17 worth of 93 octane
