so my only day off from work (thanksgiving) i decided to put to use. i finally scrapped my door and put in my new one...

i also decided to stick in my dana 60!

i got the 10 bolt out and the 60 is almost in. i took the 4'' lift springs off and put the 8'' ones on. only problem is the tires that are on the 60 dont fit under the bumper. the jackstands are all the way extended so im gonna have to take the tires off. the lug nuts are rusted and are bigger than 15/16 which is currently the biggest socket i have. im gonna buy some bigger sockets and have a crack at it after work tomorrow. after i get the tires off it should be pretty straightforward. do you guys think i'll have to get longer ubolts for the 8'' spring pack? check the pics. i just wanna know before hand while im out so i dont have to go back out and get ubolts after work. check the pics:

Steer the tires to one side then rotate the axle so the tires are like this \-\ roll it under then straighten them back to normal. Lookin better all the time.

yeah what i think im gonna do is take the tires off and then lift it up on a jack in there. because with the tires on the axle sits too tall to even fit under the springs....

haha i tried that. i finally just ended up taking the tires off. the holes in the (blanking out on the name of this sorry:doah:) plate that the centering pin goes in on the axle were too small so it didn't fit right away. I went out and bought a 5/8 drill bit promptly. i got a whole new ubolt kit coming to me tomorrow so i will be able to actually have the axle on the truck then.

after that happens i'l be tackling the crossover. i've already got my steering box disconnected, just need to throw my 2wd box and hook everything up...

any tips or advice for a newbie?
