No clue about this outfit. The engine above appears to be flat tappet cam, look at the 96 01 350. 4 bolt mains are not necessary

I'll let others speak if they have direct TBI experience (as I recall, someone already posted about a $400 cost to tune their TBI), but my experience is that an EFI setup designed originally for better heads than TBI, Vortec heads STILL required significant reprogramming.

i think that this engine or a GM LO5 would be a direct swap for the motor we have correct? so minimum if any swapping of parts like computers and TBI units i would keep the TBI unti with a 350 swap/rebuild.

If it were me I would want the 1 piece rear main a roller cam.
Last time I did a sbc the roller motors were new to production and expensive. Plus quality flat tappet lifters were easy to come by.

If you are talking the aftermarket LO5, yes, there shouldn't be any swapping of anything necessary, as long as the rebuild is put together with the right parts.
As soon as you start messing with airflow and compression (such as head swap, cam swap, intake, headers, etc) you open up that tuning can of worms.
I recall on my Dad's TBI 454 he got a "computer friendly" cam, and an edelbrock intake. Not some high performance one. That engine required a fair bit of tuning to run somewhat close to right, and even then the fuel pump ran out of pressure before we could get fueling really dialed in.
Everything can be worked around of course. It just depends how much you want to go down the rabbit hole.
Skip the Vortec heads. Too much work to make them work with the TBI stuff.
