I need the replace the rear axle assembly in my 1988 4x4 v10. What vehicles and years could I look for a new donor?

Bolt in requirements are spring perch width and e-brake cable hook up.

Most any 1/2 ton square body from the 84-85 range up to 87 (trucks) or 91 (K5 and Sub) should bolt in. I say 84-85 because I can't really remember when the e-brake cables changed.

Of course get the same gear ratio so there won't be a issue while running in four wheel drive.

Or if you found a matched set you could search 3/4 ton stuff also, of course wheels change with 3/4 ton...

One more option if you don't mind my input. Coleman surplus in Pa has a supply of NOS 1/2 ton military axles from the days before Hummers. However, they are all 3.08 gears. But, they brand new. I was going to get one of these and rebuild with 3.73 gears for my burb until the engine blew and I got rid of it.

That would have been perfect but sold out. Thanks for the heads up.
