OK 1988 Chevrolet K5

story on this K5; I bought it in January 2002 from a guy in the Navy stationed at Virginia Beach that just happened to be from Texas. I flew into Virginia Beach and he picked me up at the airport and I drove it back to Fort Worth. and then it has basically sat. I used to start it up and drive it around some but it hasn't been started in the last 6-7 years. I was always going to fix it up but need to realize what I am actually going to do and concentrate on doing that and enjoying what I have while I can. I have owned this 22 years and if you don't count the miles when I drove it back I probably haven't put 250 miles on it in all this time.
1988 Chevrolet K5 with 350 TBI/700R4/208. it has a 12 bolt rear geared at 3.07 put in by the previous owner. it has 3.08 geared 10 bolt front that I put in so the ratios would match. it has a 4" Rancho lift with a 3" body lift. 35" BFG Mud Terrains on it on spun aluminum wheels. the driver's wing window is missing although I have one that goes with it, complete assembly. the pictures of rust is on the tailgate and that is about the only rust except for a couple of small holes in the floorboard. it was painted a metallic gray and reshot black and I have included pics of the crappy cracking paint job. interior is still gray paint and blue seats, panels, and dash (?). if you notice on the steering column there is a hole where the tumbler goes. when I was robbed they tried to steal this. I have the key and tumbler and it will go back in the hole just fine. not that is real hard to rekey these trucks. dash pad is missing although I have one that is actually blue but in rough shape I can throw in with the deal. it is extremely dirty from sitting outside and I live in the country. the tires are not the original that was on it when I bought it, I sold those and have put a couple of different sets of tires on it while it sat. I thought I had a picture of the mileage but I did not see it on my phone, it is around 56xxx. it does have a dual exhaust on it.
I am going to start at $8500 and if I work on it and clean it up and get it going, price will go up. I do have a title.

any questions, please ask.

Ah man. I remember that one when I picked up mine. It was nice. Probably should have bought it instead. It already had axles and a driveline in it haha.

going to bump this again before I list it elsewhere

now I am starting to have dumb thoughts. I have a 5.86 geared Dana 70 rear. I could regear a 44 front to 5.89 and run some 40s on it.

feedback on this please;
am I too far out for anyone to be interested?
does the fact that it hasn't been started in so long scare people?
just too ugly with the paint cracked and no grill?

I am sorry I am no help with pricing, your area might be different.
Here in my area prices are a lot lower, on blazer that has been on for a few months is primered, and at $1200 is not moving.
It has been sitting for a while like yours, but engine runs.

If you want honest feedback... it needs the exterior redone, the interior redone, and possibly an engine and trans from sitting up.
It's not worth 4k to me, but could be to some one, some where.

Somebody from the rust belt might bite, but I would be offering you 1500 bucks. Maybe. She’s real ruff and been sitting that long with a window out. I know that probably hurts to hear because it’s worth way more to you personally.

I've seen people asking more, for less K5 remaining, in Ohio.

where I am at prices are all over the place; I see ones without a motor or transmission and people are asking more. I've seen some with more rust asking for more. just got to find that certain person or decide how much of a loss I am willing to take.

I've always been known as the guy with a lot of vehicles and now that I retired and cut my pay by 2/3 I am trying to come to the realization that I will probably never get around to all these projects. my 91 K5 my kids will be selling it. I don't plan on getting rid of it. then I have this one to sell; then I have a 76 that is rusty that I bought with the transmission bad in it. I kinda want to fix it as I have so many parts, but I argue with myself that I could just sell the parts as well.
