OK, well I'm a new guy... The names Aric. I've been reading threads for quite a while now. Finally bought my membership in on the place as I'd like to use your guys skills and ideas for my build. I hail from Nebraska and actually know a few of the regulars on this site.

After an exhaustive search for a 4WD, 1 Ton, Crew, Single rear wheel rig I finally found it outside of Helena Montana.

138K on the clock, PW/PW, with slide in camper. New rear end, transmission, transfer case, and more.

Truck is setup to tow with camper on. The camper is a 1974 Wilderness, everything works in the camper (bonus).

Truck also came with a new Skyjacker 6" lift kit for the truck and a set of brand new 35" tires that the guy never installed.

The truck has the fuel injected 454 with the turbo 400 transmission.

Got the Ol Boy for $5,700... Trucks name is "Clancy" since that's the towns name where I picked it up from.

The goal is to create my own ultimate Family hauler/expedition/Hunting/Camping/Off Roading/Pasture Rig... I've always wanted something like that for my family. I contemplated a Burb for a while but decided a Crew was the way to go for my needs.

It wasn't long ago I ran across an actual Earth Roamer in Omaha and even though it was a Ford the concept just struck me as awesome. What's better is that I'll be able to ditch the Camper when I don't want it and can still have my truck.

I'm sure you've all seen them but for those that haven't, this is an Earth Roamer like I saw in Omaha.

Welcome to the world of campers on squarebodys! I have wondered how many others use their trucks here with a camper, what say you members?

Welcome to our world! :waytogo:

I'd be looking at some more front springs pretty quick?

lovely...this looks like it'll be a killer build.

I'm really getting the crew cab bug bad...

Thanks for the compliments... Starting off a little small but everything has to start somewhere. I yanked off the running boards and am installing an ORD Steering Box brace this afternoon.

Before I start on the lift I'm going to go ahead and order a crossover steering kit... That might delay me a couple of weeks so I can save some coin up first.

Geesh what a sweet ride! I actually quite dig the solar trickle charger. Might have to look into that.

I'd have to agree with everyone else on a great platform for a build. Great deal too!!
Its ok to start small. Makes you get in there and find stuff you may have missed that the PO(previous owner) may have done. Get all the bracing done now before any cracks show up if not any now. Keep it going

Sorry it took me so long to post back up on this... I spent the last winter/spring collecting parts and getting ready for this little adventure...
