1988 K5 700R4 swap with a NV4500/3500 manual trans from a 2004 Silverado

A 700r4 will have a tv cable that the later 4l60e won’t have. That cable would require the use of a mechanical throttle body and a special adapter/tv cable to hook up to it.

hi all! so we are finally ready to go ahead with this swap. we are going to put the NV3500 behind a stock 1988 350 ( 210 hp and 300 lbs torque). we have a full 465 manual from a blazer ( pedals and all). do you know what we can use from this swap? i would think i need a hydraulic clutch set up from the 2002 silverado. i think i can use the pedal box and pedals from the blazer 465 but i am not sure exactly what i can use to get the linkage and clutch all set up.

any help would be appreciated.

You need a set of 1985 and up hydraulic pedals, an 04-06 gto throw out bearing is the easiest to adapt to a square body master cylinder. I used an adapter and "an" line on my swap. Sm465 clutch works as well as the flywheel for your engine.

Hi All!

so i just got the final piece of the puzzle yesterday. i now have the NP208-C transfer case.

so as a recap.

i have a NV3500 out of a 2002 sliverado--- only the trans.

I have a full 465 manual set up out of a 1986 blazer ( pedals, linkage, and all).

and it is going behind our stock 350.

so from the above posts it seems like i need a 2004-2006 GTO throw out bearing.

also i am a little confused on the linkage that i need for the clutch. do i get a set up for a 2002 sliverado? can any of the linkage from the 465 manual work ( slave cylinder, master cylinder etc). i watched a video online and a guy seemed to use the whole set up from a 1998 NV3500 ( he has a '98 nv3500 trans and such). also is the clutch from a 350 and the 465?

i just need some help sorting out the linkage for the clutch that i will need. there seems to be several ways i can go on this. is there any way to use the 465 manual trans linkage for the clutch fork, and hydraulic slave cylinder and master cylinder?

any help is greatly appreciated!

Academicly Advance Adapters did a great write up / publication on all the variables...

Your 3500 has a integral bell housing (???? If recollection serves me right,) that will dictate using the OEM parts...

The pedals + hydraulic parts from a square body are needed for your chassis.

You just need the master cylinder for your clutch. There is an adapter fitting to use an "an" line and it attatches to the internal gto throw out/slave cylinder.
You can use the flywheel that's spec'd for your engine and a 85' and up clutch.

With a $10 adapter from Earl’s you can use the stock/correct slave for a 3500 and run a “an” style line to the squarebody master cylinder with one more adapter from Earl’s.

Works like factory. I’m running the exact setup with my 4500.
