1988 Suburban 1500 code 44

I just got an 88 Suburban. Already went through some transmission issues. Seems the governor had a gear strip out on it so it never shifted out of the lowest gear. Had to send it to the master techs to figure that one out.

It runs good again but now I will have to t/s a code 44 issue, Oxygen Sensor Circuit. I have been told this is causing about 20% more fuel to be used than necessary during idle.

Is anyone aware of a flowchart to t/s code44?

Maybe the Haynes or the Chilton manual will have this information?
