What ya think

Ugh...if it's that rusty and has at least those problems...

SKIP!

You should be able to find a better shape, and working, truck for not a lot more.

i will tell ya, for some reson ive seen people asking alot more money for a piece of junk. there was about a 89 f250 sitting in a feild, for about $1500, i was accualy rolling in the field, i was laughing so hard. the rocker look bad but there is salvagable metal. basicaly people figure if its a running 4x4 its worth $1400:doah: :haha:

my problem is i want a full size pickup for a DD but only $2000 and i like having money to fix stuff that could go wrong.

Remember to figure in repair costs. The thing won't move or isn't safe to move because of the rear brakes...what else is wrong?

Checked Craigslist, eBay, AutoTrader, and AutoRV? I've found some pretty good deals in those. Got my Tracker with over 2k worth of aftermarket parts (albeit half installed wrong) for...2k...only had to drive 4 hours each way.

there is two other truck i know of. a ford f150 for $1400, and a 78 3/4ton 4x4 "Camper Special" for $1800

I love craigslist but i cant find good deals everyone wants WAY to much money.

for the brakes the rears have been completly removed(confuses the hell out of me)

Seeing all that rust makes me glad I dont live up North!!!!!!
Makes me glad I don't live where they use salt on the roads! I had an old '67 Bronco that had less rust than that.. shoulda kept it and finished the restore... live and learn.

I did find a motor recently that I want to buy. 250 straight six + a 3 speed for $125. :D

A LOT...trust us.

I brought my truck from Minnesota (they don't use salt on the roads) and still wish it had come from Utah or the southwest.

Enjoy your "rust free" trucks...bastards...hate you all...

Hey... I'm in Georgia, and my K5 was a Tennessee truck. It's nowhere near as bad as some I've seen, but repairing the rust that it does have isn't my idea of fun. :(

It's the wrong time of year to be looking for 4x4 trucks in the snowbelt. That being said, you should be able to find a better deal than that. Craigslist is full of dreamers, but money talks- and there is a lot of BS on Craigslist. I think it all depends on your budget. And your ability to travel. You can find rust free trucks down south for a dime a dozen, or pay more for rusted out junk up north. If I ever decide I need another truck, I'll buy a plane ticket and go pick one up in AZ or CA, there's always someone with an good running but unsmogable rig that they'll part with for cheap. The only truck I'd consider in that condition would be a pre-IFS K30. If you've got time, there is a pretty good selection of rigs here on the CK5 classifieds, too. Don't be afraid to go back several months and dig up older posts, a lot of the rigs are still for sale for even better prices.

Actually now's not a bad time to pick one up around here. I see them all the time. Gas prices have gone up and the "non-hardened" truck owners are selling off their toys and "babies". I see them going for much less than they used to go for a few years back. Actually getting close to realistic prices. Used to be a decent shape (little rust) truck of the classic styles (60-80's era Fords, GM's, Dodges, etc) could get 7k or more just on that fact alone. Now...not so much.

I bought an 89 similar to that one once, has like 300k miles on it or so, and it was the most unreliable piece of crap I've ever had
