I got a 1989 blazer and I wanting to put a 1996 vortex block in it. The only thing I am wondering is if I will be able to use my 700r tyranny with the 1996 vortex block

700r4 shouldn't be a problem as most of those trucks had the 4L60E behind the Vortec which is a a computer/electronic controlled 700R4.

gm still uses same bolt pattern for bell housing . even the ls series motors with minor bolt hole moved for water jacket in block .

and 96 vortec block will bolt in no problems . just use all your original mounts to your current frame.

That's a good thing about GM blocks is that there is not a lot of bellhousing variation so there are a lot of potential engine/transmission combinations.

good i was hopeing to hear that sorry i took so long to get back i just got the 700r rebuilt and did not want to have to replace it right after i got all that work. done plus i did not want the down time of haveing to take the engine out to do the work on then put back in. should =not have to worry about the torque converter eirther then too.
