I've done a search but I'm still having trouble.. my 89 k5 needs new headlights and while.im at it maybe blinkers. The current one are all shit as far as brightness.. I'm completely lost as to what I need to upgrade.. are their kits? I read about a harness and relay to get more power for brighter lights.. any help would be great esp if you have the same type of year/lights

I put the lmc relay kit on my 89 years ago when they.were first available. I got those blue bulbs that annoy everyone, but now have 65w sylvanias. $60 per set is spendy, but street legal and crazy bright. Great upgrade.

So when you say relay kit is that just the HD harness and the inner and outer glass housing?

i see your pics in the welcome thread .

your 4 headlight combo there is not a lot of love in the aftermarket world .

look for HELLA light upgrade housing stuff and then they take a reg pop in bulb . otherwise do the headlight relay mod and get the full batt/alt voltage to the lights . just be aware the 89-91 headlight harness at fire wall is a different style plug end over 88-older stuff .

A buddy of mine used the LMC replacement housings in his '90 with the same nose as yours. He said that they were better than the OEM replacements, but not what he wanted. So he he installed LED conversion into them. It gave him more light, but not properly controlled. He said that it was not aimed down the road. I don't know if a better H4 bulb in those housings would be better.
I put the discontinued Hella "E" code housings in all 4 locations on my '90. I did the relay harness with my own parts. It works well, but it isn't perfect beam spread on low, just a small dim spot. All 4 on with high beam is great!

on my 1991 V3500 I installed all high beams all the way across, and then I rigged my head light system to turn on all four lights when I hit the high beam switch. People get mad with my two high beams on and they flash me. Then, I turn on all four high beams and they really get p!ssed.
