The pickup is what has died in mine. Everything else is good construction including the ignition module.

1989 K5 350 TBI Fuel Issues?

I had the same thing. When I first bought it, the guy said "it starts most of the time, but sometimes...it doesn't want to". That was reassuring as I left Seattle heading to Colorado!
Started and ran for the two day road trip. Arrived in Colorado....woke up next morning....didn't start. Eventually the dealer figured out a new distributor. Has been reliable ever since (several years).
