I have a 89 K5 just put new upper and lower ball joint son it. It is still all over road. I had front end lined it made it better, but it still wonders gong down the road. It like i cant seem to find find the middle

Sounds like the steering box. I put new upper and lower joints on hoping to help with the same issue on my 89'. It helped a little but still had play between 11 and 2 o'clock, then the box started leaking PS fluid everywhere. Replaced it and truck drives like a dream now.

My steering box seems to be ok, but I have not replaced probally orignal My issue seems to be more noticable after I replace the ball joints. I guess it is more resonsive now

U bolts are tight right? Found out my drivers side U bolt was loose tonight, and thats where my steering had play. Have you had someone move the wheel while you watched?

How about tie rod ends and drag link ends? New, old or?? Thos can have quite an affect on steering/wandering.

Other things to lookfor--worn shackle bushings,a leaf spring "eye" up front that has opened up,allowing the bushing to slop around in it,and sheared spring center bolts, loose steering box bolts, or cracked frame rail where it mounts, can all cause it to wander....sometimes the REAR axle gets thrown out of alignment when a center bolt shears,or it has a sagging ,bent or broken rear spring too..Having any slop in the steering "rag joint" can make it difficult to stay on a straight course also..

i had an issue.. turns out my steeringbox was loose and so were my ubolts... id just check everything up front and make sure it is tight..:thumb:
