so I bought a 89 k5. I've been working on it and i order parts sometimes im asked if its a silverado or a Scottsdale truck? I've looked all around the truck and checked the vin number and nothing that stated what it is. Can anyone help me find out which one it is. Thanks

There should be emblems on the top at the B pillars and one on the far right of the dash close to the a/c vent by door.

That said, look at the option sticker in the glove box. You can google “RPO codes” for a list to decipher any that don’t have a clear description.

Welcome and congrats on your new truck! Usually, for parts purchases and the like, there isn't much of a difference between the two models, it has to do with the option packages. However, learn from my mistake and verify those RPO codes actually match what you have on the truck... Someone had changed out the glove box door on a truck I bought, I thought I had a 350 when I had a 305...easy way is to make sure the sticker on the door, the sticker in the glove box, and the vin on the dash all match. Which isn't a bad idea to start with when you buy a truck!
