Well decided to start a build thread for a 1989 sub that I traded for a trailer that I was not using. Ordered some parts from ORD and have just started the build. Here is a pic of the sub.

New bushings and 1 in body lift

Installed one side of the bushings and body lift, also removed bumpers since I will probally not use them anyway. Man those things are flimsy and light. Bushings and body lift not to bad to install so far, seems like a good little lift from the combo. Here is a pic of the half way mark. Next finish other side then I can move on to the suspension portion of the build. That should get interesting.

Front Springs

Well finally finished the bushings and body lift. Twenty years of mud and rust are tougher than ****. Started on the front shackles and springs nice difference in the springs(see pic). Now I am wondering if I should just do crossover steering now that it is all torn apart, I'm thinking easier to do it once. Starting to get excited about how this is going to turn out.:D

It is a six TC from ORD and I will most likely run 37's but have not decided yet. Will post the fender height when I get springs on.

Nice. I wish I had done 6" springs instead of 4". I didn't want to mess with extending my drivelines at the time but I regret it now. Nice burb btw.

Yeah that was the issue that i had but decided to go 6 plus the body lift and new bushings. Finished the front and the bottom lip of the fender sits at around 45in with a 31in tire on stock rims. You were right about the drive shaft it has about an inch or so before it pulls out completely. I was already going to upgrade the rear drive shaft when I do the tranfercase slip yoke eliminator.

Here are a few pics of the front, will start rear next hope it goes smooth. Oh and my brother has a jeep and seems to be getting Sub envy.

Those 37's you plan on running are going to look nice on that burb. Good job. I'm still trying to wear out my 33's completely and then upgrade to 35's (eventually).

Does anyone know if I was going to do a 8 lug conversion and crossover/highsteer up front, would I be able to use the conversion from another 10 bolt or will I have to upgrade the spindles an use the later Dana 44 spindles/knuckles. Any help is appreciated.
