No, I get that stuff. I guess I didn't make the connection that your tuner didn't have one. It supports one but doesn't include one. So you had to buy one and wire it to the tuner. Got it.

Got the gauge cluster cut out. Only took me the entire day lol. Used a jig saw and a two inch hole saw. Somebody with a plasma table could have done this in ten minutes

I’m about to start on the front bumper. What do you like better (ascetically or whatever) a custom tube bumper or a oem bumper with a hidden winch behind it... I really cannot decide what I want to do.

I know I’m putting a winch between the frame rails, I just can’t decide what I want the final finish to look like.

The factory bumpers hug around the front fenders. I'm curious what a factory bumper would look like with the front fenders trimmed.

These are speed engineering shorty stainless steel headers. Fit really close to the block and has a ton of frame clearance. Only had to trim the ears off the th400 where the dust shield mounts up.

Yeah I really like the M1028 bumper set up as well. I even looked for that setup but couldn’t find anything priced reasonable around here.
I have pretty much decided to do a simple tube bumper. I’ve picked up some tube and made the frame plates.
Hope it turns out decent.

Pretty slow. Testing how long it can sit and still crank haha. I’m over a month right now.

I actually worked on the interior a little bit the other day. Got 80% of the sound deadener installed. It makes a huge difference in road noise! Going to put a closed cell foam over that and then vinyl floor over that. Should be very quiet riding down the interstate. Picked up another bench seat to recover. USA1 has been getting a lot of my spending money. Anyways, here’s a couple pics

The hydro boost started leaking in the cab so that was another weekend of maintenance. Pulled it off and rebuilt it with new seals and fresh paint. Took a whole weekend to complete but it had to be done.

I understand completely about those long term battery tests. I actually have a trickle charger installed on mine because it sits so much.

All the deadening mat looks good, should be nice and quiet.

Honestly, your post surprised me. With all the removable panels and such I assumed it would be trailered anywhere that’s no local (like mine), that’s be cool to see rollin down the interstate.

I’m building this thing to drive anywhere and be dead reliable. The ls swap was really the turning point. It might even be my daily driver one day :fingers crossed:

I do get a lot of double takes rolling down the road with the dovetail and super short bed

Well since wheeling was called off this weekend I guess I can update my build thread.

Got a few things crossed off the list.
Front bumper is on. It’s not a final product yet. I’m waiting to get the winch mounted before adding any more tube.
I swapped the deteriorating front spring bushings for poly. Man what a pain in the ass that was!
Got the passenger side door rebuilt with new rubbers, handle and lock. By far the best closing door I’ve ever had on a squarebody truck.
