Any difference in the drivetrain between the 87 and 89 k5? On the 350ci (both 87&89)- is the trans and transfercase the same- bolt patterns, etc?

241tcase in an 89 and a 208 in a 87. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 700r4 in the 89s are a more desirable 700 compared to the ones in 86&87. the trans and tcases are interchangeable between an 87 and an 89

Some of the 89's still retain the 208 t-case.

The 700R4 got a couple revisions each year. But not all models got the upgrades. Most (if not all) came out a year or so earlier in the Corvette and Iroc/Trans Am. But generally speaking 88 and after, they had all been upgraded.
