1990 gmc jimmy headers

if your looking for shorty's, save your money and keep the manifolds...

Shorty headers don't make as much power as a tuned full length header...
Manifolds will pass smog easily and make your engine get to operating temp faster, also will work with your factory o2 sensor, and the bolts never come loose. If you get headers, you need smog headers, you also need to fab a heat-riser, mod the powersteering bracket, the y-pipe cut back and welded, and the o2 sensor bung welded, might even need a heated o2 sensor if located far enough down stream.

cool thanks for info

Bah.... I read it as a statement. :doah:

Yes there are some.
I'll try to find the link.

The crappy part, is you can't legally eliminate the Y-pipe.
And, that's the most restrictive part.... :dunno:

cool thats what i wanted to no so i guess i stick with stock i just wanted to see if i could get alittle more power out this stock motor

I looked at a higher performance engine and exhaust for my 88 K5 recently. I decided it wasn't worth the money and hassle to upgrade a tbi engine. My pickup 79 is carbed, so it was easier. I spent a fortune on that thing to get some great power while staying smog compliant. I would have probably gone the LS route on my K5 before putting a ton of money and effort into a tbi engine that just can't compete with the new technology.

I bought a gm goodwrench crate engine from summit for my K5. It runs great and didn't break the bank.

My 79 goes through aluminum collector gaskets almost as often as it gets an oil change. Well, not quite, but it seems that way. I have thorley headers from 2001.
