I heva a 1990 K5 and want to know of anyone has tapped into the passenger side fender for fresh air intake.

Look closely at the inside of a square fender and you’ll see that there is minimal cavity and it’s not “sealed” from the ambient temperatures of under the hood air temps rendering such an attempt ineffective for seeking cooler air.

You could try one of those through-fender air snorkels to source cooler air but keep in mind none of them are truly water tight/proof.

did you look at the factory setup ? the tube goes to the core support and pulls air from before the radiator in the whole grill area . think about it as its almost cold / ram air in a way .

To expand on what tarussell said, a snorkle intended for an 80 series Land Cruiser will fit with a little modding.

A while back I had a thought of taking advantage of GM’s front radiator support fresh air ( which works great ) intake setup but make it a dual air cleaner inlet.

Similar to what GM did back in ‘83~’85 on the Camaros with an L-69 H.O. air cleaners but instead of using the old carburetor air horns you could use the later truck ( possibly larger ) TBI air cleaner assembly.
You could use a TBI engine ( pictured is a ‘89 TBI 454 ) R/V series air cleaner with a passenger side air intake and fabricate a driver side air intake horn off of a ‘88~’94 GMT400 to the cleaner assembly.

Finish it off with the plastic plumbing off of the truck stuff routed to the front support because the Camaro junk is sandwiched between the hood and support.

See attached pics for visualization help.

Just a thought I had years ago - might help ya’ .

If you look back in the waybacks of this site @dremu did something like that on his stealth dually years ago. Modified an air intake to have twin snorkels going to each side of the core support.
