I have a midnight blue 1990 k5 blazer and I want to maybe put a custom bumper on the front and I was wondering if anyone knew any websites for custom bumpers and if you think it is even worth it to put one on?
i heard tactical armor used to be kennisaw or kenshaw (something like that), they had a bad rep for customer service and orders. not sure if it under new management or just changed their name.
All true...but the pricing is pretty good for what you are getting. I have seen their work on other K5's and it's pretty strong. I am going through the process right now on a front and rear for my K5. The customer service guy, Kyle, seems to respond to my inquiries right away and is friendly enough. You can expect about an 8-10 week lead time...which is what caused all the customer service issues. So far, so good with me, though.
Good luck with that. I have first hand experience this those azzes. Sure they will answer your questions, wait til that lead time goes on and on for months and months and they get aggitated when you start looking for your stuff. Oh good luck with the "bolt on" part, mine were far from it, even though I asked a million times if it will just bolt on. The rear bumper needs to have the frame cut to mount up.
And hopefully they dont paint yours the same day they ship it and wrap it in plastic. So when you pull the plastic off, all the paint goes with it. ALso hopefully you get all the hardware that is suppose to go with it. I did not.
yea, they can go suck a rusty nail for all I care. Worst customer service , product was so so but not worth the hassle. I ended up selling the front bumper and had local shop make me one. Ive still go their rear bumper with swing out tire carrier which I had to modify cuz it rattled like crazy going down the road. Im sure there are multi reasons they changed their name.
Buyer beware with those ass clowns.

A custom front bumper is too much of an investment to run with just rattle can paint on it. I would consider it just for corrosion protection in shipping and then do at least a catalyzed enamel, if not powder coat. But I know some people are getting it because they plan to beat it and prefer to just shoot some more Krylon after every weekend. I'm just bringing it up for the sake of the OP, so he plans some budget for this. And hopefully they dont paint yours the same day they ship it and wrap it in plastic. So when you pull the plastic off, all the paint goes with it.

So, Dueling, you'd like to make me one, right?![]()
