I have a 1990 k5. It is my first vehicle and has gone through a lot of changes since I got it. I have put a lot of time and money into this truck and I have had a blast with it so far. But about a week ago I had a front end collision and it ruined the front drivers side fender. The P.O put a new bumper on and didn't bolt the braces on the drivers side back up. So when the guy hit my bumper, it bent back and crushed the fender. My local auto salvage yard has plenty of k5s and k10s, so what year models do I need to check for? I asked an employee and he said $50 for the inner&outer fender and $85 for a new bumper. Also, how many bolts are holding it on, and where are they located?

Thanks in advance, Aaron.

couple bolts hold the fender to the core support, and the inner fender is held with 3 i think to the core support.

2 bolts up top on fender into firewall. then i think just one on the bottom near rocker.

it isnt a hard job just sometimes can be a pain moving all that awkwardness arounbd

the fender will have 4 bolts to the rad support from the inside.. than it has 3 in front of the rad support, one up high behind the headlight, and 2 down low at the valance..

in the back there are 3 bolts... up top by the hood hinge, on the cowl by the upper door hinge and down on the bottom of the fender...

inner fender is 3 at the bottom of the rad support, 2 into the firewall, and 6 iirc, that bolt to the fender wheel opening...

the bumper has 8 if you take the brackets off the frame, or 4 if you just pull the bumper...

Thanks!! This should really help. I think instead of buying a new stock bumper, I'm going to save up and order the gauntlet from kert at diy4x.
