1990 K5 - The Dent Side K5

90 K5 Blazer on tons and 37’s
The wheel wells are nearly 10" above the bed floor, if you trim them that much it will look bad and hit the tire, if you only trim it a few inches and raise the seat up there is a safety issue with head room. IMO neither is a good solution.

My kids fit in a PRP rear bench in a SXS. I don't need to cut up the Blazer, I like what @Gibby56 did here.

The seat we had was not a blazer rear seat, it was a little higher off the floor for sure, and it made it much nicer for adults to sit in the back.
The 73 is flat all the way to the back of the front seats.

Thanks for the info, that ostrich looks pretty fancy BTW. I like the USA theme logos too.

My kids are smaller like their mother as well, if my son get's bigger, my wife could fit with our daughters.

I wanted to stretch the wheelbase to a short bed truck wheel base and put a full width bench in front of the wheel wells, but I just don't have time to do that right, so I am not going to do it.

Thanks! I wanted something different and PRP offers the ostrich for the same price. The "New Glory" option for the logos got set when I ordered the front seats. They were doing a promotion for the 4th of July and offered that upgrade for free. Gotta have the seats match!

I think three kids would fit fine.

My radiator started leaking at one of the core tubes so it was time for a replacement. A little irritated on timing since I know the LS is going to happen soon and those want the inlet and outlet on the same side. I’m just not ready to take that on yet.

I’ve had great luck with the cheap Champion radiator’s off eBay but decided to try out Holley’s brand “Frostbite”. Pretty sure it’s made in the same factory in China as all the others.

Fitment was ok. I had to trim the radiator bracket on the passenger side for clearance on the fill cap. I circled the section in red that i buzzed off with the cutoff wheel.

Doing some KOH prep. Have the Alibaba light cannon mounted to the front in that weird gap between the front bumper and the sheet metal below the grille. I always thought the gap looked weird. 51” with amber LED’s. It’s surprising bright when i jumper wired it to make sure it works. I wanted to try this before spending real money to make sure something will survive in that space.

Also swapping the current 8 gang switch panel for a 12. Needed extra buttons to push for the light bar and the rock lights.

Was able to cheer @Stephen on from “the arena”.

Had to leave the spot before the third lap, which looked like it was going to be insane through there with the hill climb and coming back down off the side of a cliff.

Thanks! The 3rd lap was off the hook and it really sucks that so much of the action was not visible because of terrain and then, you know, the dark.

Your K5 is moving good, it looks like it was really comfortable getting around down there which is super nice to have.
