Has anyone replaced the shift shaft seal on the side of the 700r4. Mine is weeping pretty bad. I see some talk about there is a tool that you can purchase, then I see others talk about pulling the shift lever out of the trans to clean it up etc. I am already going to do a fluid and filter change so if pulling the shaft is the answer then I can look into that when the pan comes down.
To pull the shaft out does anyone have any pointers, is there anything that is going to come flying apart etc, I have never done this and am not a trans guy so don't really know what I am getting into..
