Ladies and Gents:
I'm preparing to swap the tired old 350 out of my suburban for a new (<3,000 miles) 6.2 diesel. I have a complete 2 wheel drive donor truck. I'm planning to just take everything out of the donor and install it in my 4x4 suburban. I have purchased hd engine mounts and crossmemeber from ORD. The transmission in the donor truck looks a bit different than the 700R4 in my truck -- it only has four bolts from the engine to the bellhousing on the tranny whereas my 700R4 has six. However, the tranny on the donor looks like it should have six! Any advice for me? I know I need a new torque converter, what is recommened?
Before I'm slammed for not being a supporting member -- my company has the membership login page blocked -- they're promising to unblock it any day now!~
Thanks in advance for any advice -- I appreciate it any and all input that could make this swap easier.
Oh, I'm currently running 4.88 gears with front/rear detroits and 35's. I'm pretty sure I'll have to go to (bummer
) either 37's or 38's to keep the rpm's down.
