I was told that although the Blazer and Jimmy are vitually identical this ('91) model year, GMC had far fewer production of the Jimmy's in 1991. Does anyone know this to be true?
It probably is true. GM stops making vehicles because they don't sell, thus the last year of a vehicle is typically the lowest production. Only for special vehicles would GM ever limit how many they made, they are in the business to make money, more SUV's=more money.
In the case of the '73-91 Blazer/Jimmy's, it was done to try and increase the appeal by changing the bodystyle to match the trucks.
