Why haven’t I seen this truck driving around? I’m in Georgetown. Leander isn’t far.
I drive it pretty often and my parents live in Walburg but I’m usually just on 35 through gtown. I’ve planned to bring it to pistons on the square many times but something always comes up or it rains. I’ll try to make it on the 15th.Why haven’t I seen this truck driving around? Thank you!Your truck is awesome!!
Thank you, purchased tinted ones from eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/403370252139Looks great, love it. Did you have the side markers tinted or did you buy smoked ones? Where did you get them from?
I gave it away. What ended up doing with the rear-end?

Man I've been on the hunt for a dually rear end for a while.
Thank you!Man you did a nice job on everything!
Three tits rating for sure!

YepWow, can't believe it's been 2yrs since my last post. The truck has transformed just a bit in that time... man, where to start.
Dakota Digital RTX gauges went in about 18 months ago. To me, it's the cleanest, closest to factory style aftermarket gauges. They're pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.
I had ORD build some custom 7" springs for the truck so I could go to 37s. What started with me just wanting some more sidewall ended up snowballing into a new lift.. very smooth riding but feels a little unstable compared to the 4" Tough Country HD springs that were on there. I may look at new shocks soon with some different valving to dial it in.
The biggest change was an engine and transmission swap that took NINE months.. I went with an L8T and 6L90 out of a 2021 2500HD.
Other - there were a TON of other miscellaneous parts to make this happen and really why it took so long. I'm not a great "fabricator" so sourcing various parts that didn't really meet their intended application was the name of the game. All in all, I made it all work.
- Swapped the cam for Brian Tooley Racing's 220 Gen V LT cam.
- Electrical - All powered by a Holley Terminator X Max. This quite honestly has been a nightmare. I don't recommend. I have the factory harness and computer and may swap back to it one day. This is 95% bitching about the "Max" portion which is the transmission controller. Everything tuner I've talked to immediately says, "I wish Holley never built the X Max for use on the 6L transmission series, and I now agree. If you don't know, 6L transmissions use torque based management and the Terminator X Max is very limited as to what it can tune, it's a shit cobbled together solution... so, now I'm fighting some drivability issues.
- Fuel - Still running dual tanks, Aeromotive 240 stealth in-tank pumps, regulator set to 62psi, filter, etc. and factory tank selector valve works great.
- Transmission - I found a Camaro SS shifter on eBay for a steal, always wanted a floor shifting squarebody, I dunno, don't ask why.. - some aftermarket Jeep shop makes the brackets to bolt to a 6L90 (weird I know lol).
- Adapting everything...
- Engine - Tejas Steel Works Gen V LT motor mounts. I'm running the factory mechanical fan and everything, works great, just had to clearance the hood a little for the power steering pump.
- Trans - advance adapters 6L90 to NP205 kit. This took a tremendous amount of what I call, "figuring". It's not exactly a bolt on kit and took an additional adapter spacer to get the spline length I wanted.
- Transfer case - I kept the factory '91 NP205 and modified it for twin sticks from JB Custom Fabrication. After all the changes it ended up within 1/4" of factory drivetrain length so my rear shaft bolted right back in. I still need a front shaft since going to the larger lift, it no longer fits.
