Well this took way longer than I thought it would to get ready to sell, I had it all cleaned up and then the TPS died, but now it is ready to roll! $12K is what I have it listed for on Marketplace and locally, but for a CK5 member I will do $10,000 and for $500 more I'll throw in the 2003 8.1L with the van accessory drive. I told my wife after typing this up I've done a lot to it, she said I know!
1991 Chevrolet V2500 Suburban Silverado, ¾ ton, 4x4. I’ve had this Suburban for three years and it has been my daily driver for the last 2.5 years. I put approximately 15,000 miles a year on it and I have gone through it and done all of the non-fun mechanical repairs in order to make it a dead reliable vehicle. I will jump in it today and drive to California and back without any concerns. I bought it with the intention of doing an LS Swap.
It has the 5.7 TBI, 4L80E transmission, NP241 transfer case, 3.73 gears with a G80 locker in the rear. All the Silverado options such as power window, locks, rear A/C, tilt, cruise, rear defrost, factory dark tint on side windows. The odometer and cruise do not work, and the rear defrost connection at the glass is cut and I didn’t want to solder it back on. It will come with another tail gate that is in better shape if you want it.
The only rust in the picture of the drivers rear behind the tire, there are two spots on the inner fender where the triangle covers go, and one pencil sized hole in the passenger floor.
In the last 2 years I have done the following:
Powertrain:
Water pump
Power steering pump
IAC/TPS/TBI rebuilt
Ignition module
Distributor cap, wires, plugs
Temp sending unit
Oil pressure sending unit
Oil cooler O-rings
Starter, upgraded to a Vortec gear reduction.
Intake gaskets, cleaned EGR and lifter valley
PVC
Driver’s valve cover gasket
Transmission pan filter changed, new gasket
Transfer case resealed with all new seals, new tail housing bushing too.
Passenger rear axle shaft, new axle bearing and seal.
Rear end gear oil changed and a new gasket.
Rear wheel cylinders, new pads and springs, rear rubber brake line.
Vortec fuel pump, 58psi unit that’s ready for the 8.1L or an LS swap.
New Ford 16x7 wheels, Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT LT265/75-16 Load Range E tires, wheels and tires were put on in March 2025. New Cooper Discoverer LT235/85-16 spare.
Fuel pump access mod so you don’t have to drop the tank to change the pump.
Front end:
All MOOG ball joints, drag link ends, and tie rod ends
Bilstein 4600 Shocks, at all 4 corners.
Front wheel bearings, seals, rotors, calipers and pads
Spring and sway bar bushings replaced with Poly bushings.
Redhead steering box, no cracks in the frame around the steering box bolt holes.
Rubber brake lines
Master cylinder
I have the rear Poly bushings too, I just really don't feel like putting them in.
Interior/Exterior:
Windshield in January 2025
Firewall top and bottom seals redone with SikaFlex 221
Fresh air door in the cowl repaired
Dash Cap
ACC Carpet and front sill pates in July 2025
Gauge lenses polished
JBL speakers in the dash.
Passenger front and rear window motors.
Precision front door, front window, tailgate, and rear window seals installed. Wing window seals new in the box.
Kill Mat in the entire rear floor, and a rubber mat for the back that I took out to get the fuel door picture.
