I thought I'd try posting here since, as far as I know, the G20 vans are similar to the Trucks/Blazers of the same years regarding general GM wiring and the like.

If anyone knows of a good forum for full size vans, I'm all ears. I found a few minivan forums, and one pot-smokin' hippy van forum, but nothing specific to the full size Chevy/GMC vans. There are a gazillion of them out there, I've had one or two at a time for the past 20 years or more.

Anyway, van was running/acting fine last night when I parked it.

This morning I start it and the parking/brake light stays on. Checked fluid, parking brake pedal, and brakes themselves, all fine.

Then I pull out of the drive and Check Engine comes on, goes on and off intermittently while driving. Haven't checked the codes yet (TBI OBDI I think) but it runs fine and I have to assume this is related to the other screwy things it started doing today.

Then I go to crank the A/C and notta. No fan (front or rear units either one) and it acts like there's no power to any of the a/c stuff.

Oh well, I'll just roll down the power windows. Nope. Same deal, like they all have no power. Although power locks still work fine.

All other options/accessories work fine. (Radio, wipers, power mirrors, lights, etc...)

Speedometer doesn't work (I believe this is a VSS model but not completely sure) so maybe that's setting the code that's activating the check engine light. Don't know.

All other gages work fine, as normal. (Voltage, fuel, oil, and temp all running normal...)

I'm trying to recall, but I think the electrical switches are on top of the column under the dash, the ignition switch pushes/pulls rods that move the switch positions. I'm wondering if the switch(es) on the column are the problem, because the windows and A/C both work on the same 'click' of the ignition key.

Turning the key backwards (to acc position) has same results. All accessories work except for a/c and windows.

No blown fuses, no recent work/changes to the van. 2 months ago I had the dash out of it to work on the a/c ducting, but it has worked flawlessly since then.

I'm hoping if anyone has had this problem with a K5 or Chev/GMC truck from the early 90's, most of the wiring and switches are going to be similar.

Runs/drives/sounds fine. Looks like something out of Mad Max, but it always looks that way.

I have to start troubleshooting in the morning, and plan to start with the column, but wanted to get other ideas first just in case. Help!

Most importantly: I'm driving my X-Wife's purple minivan until I get this fixed!!! :eek1:

I'm way too much of a not-homo to drive a purple minivan. I seriously considered walking the 4 miles home from her house instead.
