My father just purchased a high mileage 1992 Suburban 1500 for a deer hunting rig in Northern Maine. 90% of the driving will be on dirt roads with the occasional washed out or muddy skidder trail. He basically bought it so he doesn’t have to worry about dents or scratches.
I have also searched and searched and cannot find a tire fitment guide for a 92 suburban???
He wants to put on the biggest tires he can without buying an extensive IFS lift (a 6” IFS lift would 250% of the purchase price). I was hoping to find a budget boost that will net 2-3” of lift so he can get 33’s (or 35’s) with fender well cutting…..but I cannot find ANYTHING. Does anyone have a cheap alternative (ie….tricks with beefier 2500 components???)
The real money will be spent on some BFG A/T’s and some new rims…..which brings me to my next question….what would be the best backspacing on the 6-lugs to achieve the greatest clearance.
Please help as he is looking for help from his computer literate son.
Thank you, Green Hornet
