Greetings to all. Just wanted some feedback on a QUALITY front hub assembly replacement........so............is the Timken brand OR the MOOG brand made in the USA? I can't seem to find any information on the actual origin for either brand other than "Each company utilizes 16 different overseas manufacturing facilities". I AM NOT a big fan of Chinese bearings I've seen WAY too many failures. IF that's the case, I will leave in the factory originals, yes, originals with 321,000 miles on them and NO play whatsoever. It would be nice to hear other's opinions on this.

Unfortunately, it seems like all the hub assembly's are made in the same factory overseas these days. If you look at part numbers, they are the same although from various companies. I just had the same dilemma looking for hubs for my S10. The only advice I can give is find the hub assembly's that offer the best warranty.

Hey THANKS! I know, I noticed that many of the local parts stores don't even carry Timken OR MOOG products compared to several of the big online auto parts websites. Just amazing how I hate to even change any parts because the one I am putting on may be worse than the one I am removing. Try locating a temperature sender (For the dash gauge) for a 94 Suburban with the correct resistance, even the AC Delco one doesn't read the proper ohms when hot to show the accurate temperature reading on the gauge. Many thanks again for the input.

I have 10k on a set of Timkins I just put on my 93. No issues and they appeared well built.

Rock auto . Discount code here in vendor section. Timken and hand install shaft nut and tourqe to spec and good to go cheeper than local store crap brands .

MANY thanks for the input here folks. I did find two vendors on eBay that I asked "Where are these Timken front bearing hubs made", ONE said overseas and the other said in the USA with a ten year warranty. And I do buy many parts from RA. I just wish RA would put in their parts description "Country of origin." And YES, RA parts many times are MUCH cheaper than the local parts stores...............sometimes hundreds of dollars. It's always good to hear what other mechanics are doing in certain situations.

If I remember correctly it was Mexico or USA.
I redid the whole front end at once so it is hard to remember which box/part said what.

From my research as long as you purchase a reputable brands top line, the part is usually up to standards. Despite country of origin. With non name brands sometimes being of high quality despite being cheaper.

I.e the same factory will pump out similar bearings but material specs will differ to save cost. Cheaper brand specs bare minimum and another brand specs for higher tolerance.

I know Mevotech has encroached on Moog recently. I used there top line lower ball joints and found them high quality.

Good evening and MANY THANKS!!! All the tie rod ends and both the upper and lower ball joints were MOOG and Made in USA. Just like trying to find really decent front axle boots, might as well buy the entire axle assembly. Many thanks for the response, I sincerely do appreciate it!
