Anybody looking for a clean beater truck? I bought this thing a while back with a dead 5.7L to fix and flip as I had the TBI 5.7L (left over from the Polar Bear Suburban) that needed a home. The truck is actually pretty damn clean for 22 years old. It is also a local truck so it is completely rust free. The guy I got it from claimed he was the original owner and bought it new from Spradley Chevrolet here in Pueblo.
The good….
1994 K1500
175,000 miles
3:73 Gears
TBI 5.7L (GM reman with around 40K out of my Polar Bear Suburban)
4L60E trans. Shifts nice and seems tight. Had to put a new TPS on the throttle body as the trans would not shift until high RPM’s. Works fine now
New windshield
New blower motor
New headlights and signal lights
New tailgate latch and bezel. The bezel is typical aftermarket crap and doesn’t fit very well but at least the tailgate works now.
Had in bed tool box but does not lock (lock cylinder missing)
Nice interior for its age
Drives really nice for 22 years old
A/C works great
Very clean interior. I removed the seats and cleaned the crap out of the seats, carpet and entire interior (and dash while the windshield was out). Some slight staining in the pass seat and one spot on the rear seat that wouldn’t come out but still very clean for its age
While the engine was out the engine bay got thoroughly steam cleaned, frame painted and radiator support painted.
The not so good….
Has major hail damage on roof and hood
Left rear quarter panel is bent up where it got smashed during a tire blow out at some point in its life.
Rear bumper is bent too but not too badly
Has bedliner but it is cut in two spots where it used to have one of those cheasy old 5th wheel trailer mounts.
Has some clear coat missing near the LH Z71 decal
Has aftermarket radio and CD changer. It works but I personally hate when people install aftermarket radios in GMT400 trucks
$5000 OBO
The Not so good… Hellacious hail damage
Quarter panel bent up
During…
Out with the old
Engine bay all cleanup
In with the new
